Why Resume Writing Is Basically Farming for Smart People
Let’s face it—most people wouldn’t put “farmer” and “résumé writer” in the same sentence unless they were writing “Wanted: Résumé Writer for Cattle Ranch.”
But hear me out. Underneath the overalls and beneath the Word doc formatting wizardry, farmers and résumé writers are basically doing the same job.
Don’t believe me? Let’s dig into this like we’re planting career potatoes.
🌱 Prepping the Soil = Prepping the Client
Farmers don’t just throw seeds on the ground and hope for the best. They prep the soil, remove the rocks, and make sure conditions are just right.
Résumé writers? Same thing. We don’t just slap together some bullet points and pray to the LinkedIn gods. We dig deep, ask questions, rake through old jobs, and make sure everything is résumé-fertile before planting accomplishments.
Sometimes there are…weeds. Like “responsible for” and “duties included.” Out they go.
